WILLIE REID
Director, Strathclyde Offshore Energy Transition Programme

Willie Reid is Director of the University of Strathclyde Offshore Energy Transition Programme where he is responsible for the strategic and operational development of applied research partnerships with industry.
Willie started his career as a trainee production chemist with Shell more than 40 years ago has developed a broad ranging career in upstream oil and gas services, downstream process industries, and clean technology development. Previous roles have included international CEO, Managing Director, business management, and technical positions with Gas2, Servo BV, Lubrizol, Exxon, Nalco, and Shell. He has also consulted for Oil and Gas Operators and service companies. He has been Chairman of Aurora Private Equity and is a past Chair of the North of Scotland Knowledge Transfer Partnership.
He is a graduate of Aberdeen University, holds an MBA from Henley Management College, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
